About the Organization:
Gayatri Foundation Nandurbar was registered in 1992 and has been working in Nandurbar and Dhule districts for the last twenty years in various fields like watershed development, social development, women empowerment, agriculture development etc.

Issue:
Main problem of area is development deficit, It is this deficit creating various issues related creating Various issues related to Human development. Nandurbar district has very low human development index are per Capita income and nutritional condition of children. Both of these components are much below the average of State and Country. Child deaths due to Malnutrition have become Characteristic of the area. Various programmes are going on but situation has not changed in last one decade. One of the major issues in Malnutrition is availability of balance diet. Local survey reveals that 70 percentage of vegetables are also not available now So there is major dietary difficult in the area. This deficult is escalating malnutrition problem.Another problem is lack of local opportunities of income genration Agriculture is rainfed and subsistence level with very low productivity No efforts were carried out to develop other income genration opportunities locally So migration to industrial and cash crop areas is the only option Decrease in forest resurces has only fueled the situation It is observed that more than 50 % families migrate to various places

Action:
The main objective of the organization is to stop malnutrition and migration and the needy and poor families and beneficiaries in the village can benefit from the project if we provide kitchen gardens as well as improved seeds as demonstration plots. And through this, whatever food grains are grown and the vegetables coming out of the kitchen garden can be used at home and the excess vegetables can be sold in the village or in the market. Also, if the dam closure works are done through the project in the land of the beneficiaries who have agriculture, then the fertility of their land will increase and the income will increase. If the work of dam closure starts, employment will be available in the village itself and migration will be reduced. And through the project you can help them in the form of improved seeds, accounts, tools, etc. to increase agricultural income.

Impact :
If this scheme is implemented in the village, first of all improved agriculture will increase the income and employment of the beneficiaries. This will first of all reduce the migration of the beneficiaries and help them to increase their literacy
