School students in rural and tribal areas of Maharashtra do not get good quality and sufficient educational material. The financial condition of parents in rural and tribal areas is also not good. (Education materials - This includes pen, pencil, measurement strip, eraser, compass box, school bag, books, notebook, books, colouring material, dictionary etc ...) Government policies & machinery is also not able to provide sufficient educational material to all these students.

One cannot overlook the importance of books and how much of a difference they can make, especially in the lives of children. For the less fortunate, books are considered a luxury and they simply cannot afford them. Books help children make sense of the world around them, impart morals and values to them, often without sounding preachy, teach them empathy, and the difference between right and wrong. Moreover, children who can’t read are unable to learn and this impacts their schooling.

Recognizing the above problem, Social Fro action started this initiative from the year 2017 to distributing good quality educational material to poor children in rural and tribal areas of Maharashtra. Perhaps, you’ve put a hold on buying new books simply because you no longer know where to keep them. So, make space for more books by letting go of the old ones- donate the books you feel can add value to someone’s life. We rely on donations of new/old books, or donation of money to buy books.

Since the year 2017, more than 5,000 needy children received good quality and new educational material through our program. This activity is organized once a year and it is implemented throughout Maharashtra. With your help, we made a difference. SFA collaborated with supporting NGOs across Maharashtra. Together we identified schools & students who are in need of books and study materials. Donation kiosks were installed in various locations in urban areas. City schools and students joined the movement. The collected books and study material were hand-delivered to the needy. The implementing cost of one Education Donation Drive initiative is Rs. 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees for one district. This project needs financial help to be implemented in all the districts.
