It is better not to think how much struggle we will have to face at every level in our daily life if we suddenly stop hearing when everything is going well. Fourteen-year-old Tanvi Kakade struggles to make herself heard again. Fourteen-year-old Tanvi Kakade lives with her family in the city of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. After the birth of Tanvi in the Kakade family, there was a happy atmosphere. However, this happiness did not last long, as Tanvi was not responding to the housemates. This is where Tanvi's struggle really began.
Tanvi was born deaf. Her father tried to get her to hear in several hospitals. Finally, when Tanvi was four years old, she underwent cochlear implant surgery at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. About six and a half lakh rupees were spent for this surgery. Tanvi's father Baliram works as a newspaper delivery man. Their financial condition was fragile as they had no other source of income. Therefore, he raised six and a half lakh rupees required for the surgery by getting funds from various voluntary organizations and philanthropists.
Tanvi had improved a lot in the last ten years after cochlear implant surgery and practicing speech therapy. She began to hear fully, speak clearly and went to school like a normal child. Meanwhile, Tanvi suddenly lost her hearing completely last month. After examination at the hospital, the doctor said that the internal cochlear implant is fine, but the 'nucleus et sound processor' machine outside the ear is damaged. So she can't hear. She will have to get a new machine fitted to hear again and the cost of the machine is around seven and a half lakh rupees.
Uncle Baliram earns twenty thousand rupees a month from his paper putting work. There is nothing left after the house installment, household expenses and the girl's education expenses. Kakade is trying to make his daughter speak and hear like normal children again. He has so far collected one lakh and fifty thousand rupees from friends and relatives. To collect the remaining amount, they are meeting various organizations and philanthropists and appealing for financial help.
Successful surgery on Shambhi...
For the cost of cochlear implant for seven-year-old congenitally deaf girl Shambhavi Sathe for the cost of eight lakh rupees, a campaign was launched through 'Social for Action' of Sakal Social Foundation. The campaign was well received by the philanthropists. In this, all the funds collected by Shambhavi's family, received from various organizations and collected through the campaign of 'Social for Action' were classified for the surgery. Shambavi has had a successful cochlear implant surgery and is improving.
