Give Rural Children a Fair Chance at e-Learning

About the Organization:
The Educational Materials Donation Project is a collaborative initiative of Sakal Social Foundation, Shri Mukund Bhavan Trust, and K&Q Parivar aimed at providing educational materials to underprivileged school children.

This project strives to bridge the gap between underprivileged children and quality education by providing them with essential educational materials that are at par with urban schools. By doing so, the project aims to make education more accessible and affordable for these children.

Issue:
Access to education is a basic human right that should be available to all children, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Unfortunately, millions of children around the world are still denied this right. Lack of access to education is a major contributor to the perpetuation of poverty across generations. Education is an essential human right recognized by both the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Every child, regardless of gender or background, should have the opportunity to receive a high-quality education that can open doors to better employment opportunities, improved health, and contribute to the development of society. By providing underprivileged, rural children with access to quality education, we can create a better future for generations to come.

Action:
Under the Educational Materials Aid Project, selected students from 5th to 9th grade, identified by Sakal representatives, will receive a kit of essential educational materials at the beginning of the academic year in June. This kit includes items such as school bags, notebooks, compass boxes, water bottles, tiffin boxes, water-colours, drawing books, exam pads, boots and socks, raincoats, sweaters, sports shoes, sports uniforms (T-shirts and half pants), Satranji, sheets, and summer hats. These materials will equip underprivileged students with the necessary tools to pursue their education and pave the way for a brighter future.

Impact :
Rs.3,500/- is the cost of a student's educational material kit. We have already provided these educational material kits to 300 primary school students. To make these educational materials available to more children in Maharashtra, the collective assistance of generous individuals, various organizations, and establishments is required. Through this large scale collaboration, we can impact the life of students in the rural areas of Maharashtra.
