The crematorium in Mahalunge Padwal (Tal. Ambegaon) has deteriorated significantly. Due to the lack of necessary facilities, the final journey of the departed has become distressing. Villagers are now demanding urgent repairs. Mahalunge Padwal has a population of over eight thousand, with 18 hamlets including Gavthan, Indiranagar, Saidwadi, Desawala, Khalchi Thakarwadi, Vikaswadi, Solatmala, Kaldara, Malwadi, Chandanwadi, Pingaldara, Udarmala, Ghayalmala, Ambatkarmala, Patilvasti, Ghodekarmala, Sabremala, and Chaskaramala. Despite this, the village has only one crematorium. People who come to the crematorium are already grieving, and the inconvenience caused due to inadequate facilities adds to their distress. During the monsoon, the condition of the crematorium worsens further. The roof sheets of the crematorium have worn out over time, and two cremation platforms are no longer functional. "The cremation platforms are damaged, making it difficult for families to conduct the last rites. Additionally, there are no proper sanitation facilities or enclosed bathing areas." — Babaji Chaskar, President, Hutatma Babu Genu Yuva Pratishthan To facilitate the repair of the crematorium, the Mahalunge Padwal Gram Panchayat and local villagers are collectively raising funds. Additionally, for the remaining financial requirements, they are appealing for donations through the Social for Action initiative, encouraging philanthropic individuals, organizations, and corporate entities (CSR funds) to contribute to this noble cause.
