The Toilet Project Gives The Girls A Chance
The Problem:
In rural Maharashtra, thousands of children, especially girls, face the daunting challenge of commuting to school. The lack of adequate transportation facilities forces them to walk long distances, hindering their education and overall well-being. This issue contributes to the high dropout rates in secondary education, particularly among girls.
The Solution: 'Cycle Bank Project' - A Beacon of Hope
Enter the 'Cycle Bank Project', a social initiative by Sakal Social Foundation, that's transforming the lives of rural students in Maharashtra. This remarkable project provides bicycles to underprivileged students, primarily girls, residing in remote areas where schools are located far from their homes.
How it Works:
Identification: Students from tribal and remote areas who travel at least five kilometers on foot to reach school are identified through their respective schools
Bicycle Distribution: After careful selection, these students receive brand new bicycles, enabling them to cover the distance to school safely and efficiently.
Reuse and Recycle: Upon completion of their education, students return the bicycles to the project, ensuring they continue to serve future generations of learners.
Impact
The 'Cycle Bank Project' has made a profound impact on the lives of rural students in Maharashtra:
Enhanced Education: Bicycles have significantly improved school attendance, especially among girls, reducing dropout rates and promoting gender equality in education.
Empowerment and Safety: Students no longer have to walk long distances, reducing their exposure to risks and enhancing their overall safety.
Improved Health and Well-being: By cycling to school, students engage in regular physical activity, boosting their health and fitness.
A Call to Action:
The 'Cycle Bank Project' needs your support to expand its reach and empower more rural students. Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a world of difference in a child's life.

Our industry group has got this opportunity through 'Sakal Social Foundation' and in the last two months a total of hundred students in Satara and Pune have been distributed bicycles through this initiative. Tomorrow's developed India. It is expected that students will come from these schools to make it happen."
