Over 6000 Warkaris benefited from a comprehensive eye check-up camp held during Ashadhi Wari
During the Ashadhi Wari, the Sakal Social Foundation of the Sakal Media Group collaborated with Shree Mukund Bhavan Trust and H.V. Desai Eye Hospital to organise a large eye check-up camp. This extensive endeavour encompassed eleven sites on Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj's Palkhi path from Pune to Bhandishegaon, including Saswad, Jejuri, Walhe, Lonand, Phaltan, Tardgaon, Natepute, Malshiras, Ghamapur, and Bhandishegaon.
Impact and outreach
Over 6,000 Warkaris received eye examinations at the camp, displaying a great dedication to the well-being of the Wari's participants. As a consequence of these examinations, 3,375 Warkaris received free spectacles, which considerably improved their vision and daily life.
Addressing Cataract Issues
This camp's most important outcome was the identification of 225 Warkaris who required immediate cataract surgery. Understanding the gravity of their situation and the significance of prompt medical attention, H.V. Desai Eye Hospital has pledged to provide complimentary cataract surgery to all of these patients. This gesture ensures that the Warkaris regain their vision and can continue their spiritual journey without interruption.
Collaboration and Community Support
This program demonstrates the power of collaboration and community support. The Sakal Social Foundation, Shree Mukund Bhavan Trust, and H.V. Desai Eye Hospital collaborated to improve the lives of thousands of Warkaris. Their commitment to healthcare and social responsibility has offered vital medical aid to many who would not otherwise have had access to such treatments.
Looking Ahead
The success of this eye check-up camp paves the way for future health camps and social initiatives. It emphasises the significance of accessible healthcare and the good influence it may have on entire communities. As these organisations continue to collaborate, the goal is to reach even more people and deliver critical medical services to those in need.
The Ashadhi Wari eye check-up camp has not only improved thousands of people's vision, but also brightened their lives, exemplifying the true spirit of community care and support.
