Manavseva: Geeta and Maya’s Journey of Healing

... In the heart of Arangaon (Mehrabad), a young woman named Geeta, bearing both physical and emotional scars, embarked on a journey of pain and despair. Left vulnerable on the streets, she fell prey to the cruelty of those who sought to exploit her disability and shattered spirit.

On the other hand, Maya, a 19-year-old girl from a loving family, faced a tragic twist of fate when her father passed away suddenly. Driven by a deep sense of responsibility, she left her home to provide for her family. Little did she know that she would be ensnared by ruthless individuals who subjected her to torment and abuse, leading to a mental breakdown.

Maya and Geeta’s descent into the dark, deep, and unforgiving shadows of society was halted by the dedicated volunteers of Shri Amritvahini Gram Vikas Mandal Sanstha who admitted them to the 'Manavseva' project. This marked the beginning of their courageous battle towards recovery.

The 'Manavseva' Project: A Lifeline For Many

Amidst bustling streets and towns, countless destitute and mentally ill individuals like Geeta and Maya found solace and hope in the 'Manavseva Project.' The tireless efforts of the Shri Amritvahini Gram Vikas Mandal Sanstha reached out to those abandoned souls, offering them not only essential care and treatment but also a pathway to reintegrate into society. The 'Manavseva' project became a beacon of light for the homeless and afflicted, tirelessly working to bring them back to the mainstream of life.

A Vision Born from Compassion

The 'Manavseva' project, a vision born from the compassion of Dilip Gunjal, was sparked by a chance encounter at a bus stand. Witnessing the deplorable condition of a mother and her children, he couldn't turn a blind eye. His determination to establish an effective system for the destitute and mentally ill led to the creation of the Sri Amritvahini Gram Vikas Mandal in 2006. The organization aimed to extend its humane services to those who had no one else to turn to.

Humanitarian Service Beyond Measure

For 'Manavseva,' true humanitarian service meant reaching out to the homeless and mentally ill, cleansing their wounds, providing sustenance, shelter, and healthcare, and reuniting them with their families after rehabilitation. Over the years, the organization has transformed the lives of 2,500 destitute mentally challenged individuals, offering them a chance at a new beginning. Currently, 45 individuals find solace and care in the 'Manavseva' project, and the organization aspires to establish a 100-bed hospital to further its mission of compassion.

A Call for Collective Support

The 'Manavseva' project operates without government subsidies, relying solely on the generosity of compassionate individuals and organizations within society. The daily expenses are substantial, covering medical treatments, food, and essential care for homeless, destitute, and mentally challenged patients. As the project continues its vital work, it calls upon the collective support of society to sustain this beacon of hope and healing.

Join the Humanitarian Cause

The 'Manavseva' project's mission of compassion and healing stands as a testament to the power of collective action.
