Sakal Social Foundation Provides Free Eye Check-ups and Spectacles to Warkaris

Sakal Social Foundation, in collaboration with Shree Mukund Bhavan Trust, Pune and H. Sakal Media Group, has embarked on an ambitious initiative to provide free eye check-ups and spectacles to warkaris (pilgrims) participating in the Ashadhi Wari procession. This noble effort aims to ensure the well-being and visual health of the devoted pilgrims, spanning twelve locations from Saswad to Wakhri.

The initiative commenced at Saswad, where a free eye check-up camp was conducted at Vishwaranjan Eye Hospital. The response from the people was overwhelming, with a large number of warkaris availing themselves of the services. A total of 1,300 patients were examined free of charge, and among them, 800 individuals received free spectacles and medicines as required. This gesture of compassion and care brought relief to those in need and highlighted the commitment of the organizers toward the pilgrims' well-being.

Encouraged by the positive response, Sakal Social Foundation and its partners are extending the free eye check-up camps to other locations along the Palkhi Marg of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj. The upcoming camps will be held at Jejuri, Walhe, Lonand, Phaltan, Tardgaon, Natepute, Malshiras, Ghamapur, Bhandishegaon, and Wakhri. At each of these places, 300 free spectacles will be distributed, along with comprehensive eye examinations for underprivileged individuals.

The success of this noble initiative wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support and assistance of various organizations and individuals. Lions Club Pune Shatabdi, Lion Kailas Malik, Lions Club of Pune Seniors, Lions Club of Pune 21 Century, Shri Sant Seva Sangh, and Dr. Praveen Jagtap played a significant role in making this endeavor a reality. The expertise of Camp Dr. Madhusudan Zanwar and Dr. Rajesh Pawar further strengthened the medical aspect of the initiative.

The organizers are appealing to all warkaris to take advantage of the free eye check-up camps at each location. This initiative aims to ensure that every participant in the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage receives the necessary eye care and support. By addressing visual health concerns and providing spectacles, the initiative enables the warkaris to continue their journey with improved vision and enhanced well-being.

The collaborative efforts of Sakal Social Foundation, Shree Mukund Bhavan Trust, Pune, H. Sakal Media Group, Desai Eye Hospital, and various supporting organizations have set in motion a remarkable initiative to provide free eye check-ups and spectacles to warkaris. With the successful commencement of the initiative at Saswad, it is poised to bring relief and improved vision to thousands of pilgrims as they undertake their sacred journey. This endeavor showcases the power of collective compassion and the positive impact it can have on the lives of those in need.
