In a spectacular display of excitement,
the youth of Pune banded together to make a huge environmental effect during
the 'Vrikshasmarpan' tree planting campaign at Taljai Hill in Sahakarnagar.
Gold Leaf Entertainment organized the event in partnership with the 'Sakal
Social Foundation' and the 'Young Inspirers Network' of the Sakal Media Group,
which drew passionate participation from college students eager to contribute
to a greener future.
More than 200 indigenous trees were
planted on the campaign's first day, indicating a successful start to this
important endeavor. Organizations such as The Eco Factory Foundation, The
Satsang Foundation, and the Pune Forest Department provided significant support
to the program. Participants learned the value of tree planting and
conservation from Madhav Chavan, the Forest Guard of Pachgaon Mountain.
Students and teachers from a variety of
educational institutions, including Shree Shahu College, Anantrao Pawar College
of Engineering and Architecture, Namdevrao Suryavanshi ITI College, and the
College of Engineering of the Pune District Education Board, contributed their
enthusiasm and dedication to the cause. Their collective efforts not only
improved the landscape, but also aided in the critical fight against climate change.
The tree plantation effort will continue
every Saturday as part of the larger 'Sakal-Swasthayam' program, which promotes
health and well-being via environmental sustainability. The 'Tree Devotion'
initiative urges volunteers to take part in continuing tree planting and
conservation activities, instilling a sense of community and responsibility for
nature.
