Caring Hands, the Ahmednagar based NGO came forward and gradually becoming the change maker for the Paradhi, Bhilla, Dombari, Kaikadi, Ghisadi, Dhanagar, Vaidu etc. communities in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra State.
Caring Hands is working to help them to be civilized and changing the mentality. For this purpose, they have to be provided with at least basic education and health facilities. Unless they are made aware of their social & economical standing, they will not get inspirited to take efforts to bring change among themselves.
To empower the poor and needy people particularly the youth, and women belonging to tribes, nomadic tribes and other marginalized communities with a view of furthering their socio- economic conditions with special reference to health, livelihood, education, governance and constitutional rights.
Currently Caring Hands is working with 250 families in the periphery of village Walunj. Pimpalgaon Malavi, Dahigaon, Newase, Pathardi etc. of Ahmednagar District and recently started working in and around Talegaon Dabhade with the tribal communities. These are mainly the migrants; hence, their children could not take even primary education. We find people from Paradhi and few other communities involved in such incidents of looting even today as well.
The women belong to this community goes for begging along with their kids and solicits for the money or something to eat showing that they are helpless and there are no ways other than begging to feed their malnourished babies in the large numbers. It is surprising to know that, they don’t feed their babies to make them malnourished deliberately, sometimes they kidnap children from other places, make them injured and force them to beg for them showing the wounds.
There are several such big issues in which these communities are involved. We need to address the basic issues/problems one by one to bring these communities in the main stream of society and make them live a life with dignity. Caring Hands has decided to start working with this community to help them to be civilized; changing the mentality of these community members is difficult but very necessary. For this purpose, they have to be provided with at least basic education and health facilities. Unless they are made aware of their social & economical standing, they cannot be inspired to make efforts for the betterment of their conditions.
Caring Hands objectives can only be achieved through continuous interaction with them by regular involvement in the issues relating to their health and education. Caring Hands started various activities in Ahmednagar and Pune. Kalashram is one these projects.

Provide all sort of assistance to connect the children to the school and through this stop child beggary, child labor and child marriages and atrocities on children. Inculcate discipline, social manners and etiquettes; change the nomadic tribes life style so that they are able to approach the mainstream society.
